Who We Are

Master Gardeners are members of the local community who take an active interest in their lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers and gardens. We form a network of highly qualified and concerned people who implement a wide range of activities that allow us to share unbiased, researched-based, locally relevant  gardening information with the community. What really sets Master Gardeners apart from other home gardeners is our special training in horticulture which we received from the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Bexar County.

Our Mission

As the volunteer educational arm of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, the mission of the Bexar County Master Gardeners is to educate our community and surrounding areas on water conservation and research-based gardening practices and techniques as developed by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of the Texas A&M University System.

Community Partners

Working hand-in-hand with its Texas A&M System partners, the state legislature, and the communities it serves, the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service serves Texans through community-based education. As part of the education services, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension oversees the Master Gardener program. Bexar County Master Gardeners work closely with the Bexar County Extension office.
