Scion – June 2019

Volume 29, Issue 6 – June 2019

President’s Message:

Thanks to all of you Master Gardeners that volunteered last month. It is a great contribution to the Bexar County Master Gardeners in our mission to educate the citizens of our county and very much appreciated.

So the list of May efforts begins: Basil Fest, 70 on the Gardening Tour of the Zoo, Youth Garden Preparation, Festival of Flowers, Docent training, Culinary Docents at SABOT, Farmers Market NEISD,  Brown Bag, Wortham Oaks Science Fair, Earth-Kind Gardening Series support, Children’s Vegetable Garden at SABOT, Watermelon and Tomato Trials, Children’s Garden at Hardberger Park and whatever else you all have been doing that I may have missed.

Remember, we have a new Master Gardener Intern Class starting in August, so please tell your interested friends about it. Applications are due on June 17.

Our Scholarship Chairperson, Jan Craven, and her committee are working hard to pick the two scholarship winners, so that news should be out soon!

New opportunities will be coming soon, so please stay tuned.  Check the VMS Calendar!!!

Thanks for your support,

Grace Emery
