Topic: Plants for Our Changing Climate and The Art of Writing About Them
Speaker: Mary Irish, Garden Writer-Lecturer-Educator
Mary Irish is a native Texas author, lecturer, and educator who until recently ran the plant sale program at the San Antonio Botanical Garden. Her presentation will focus on her work on a new book, to be published by Texas A&M Press, about plants for our changing climatic conditions. Ms. Irish will discuss how one goes about doing such a thing as writing a book, even about the plants one loves. Her interactive talk will be one that Irish hopes will open our eyes both to the craft of writing and to the delights of looking closely at our own gardens.
