Dr. Barron Rector, Associate Professor and Extension Range Specialist, TAMU, is with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in the Department of Ecosystem Science and Management. Dr. Rector received his B.S. (1972) and M.S. (1976) in Biology/Chemistry (with an emphasis in Plant Taxonomy) from Angelo State University. He received his Ph.D. (1983) from Texas A&M University in Rangeland Ecology and Management. His professional experience is in biology, chemistry, plant taxonomy, environmental ecology, and range animal nutrition. He has been associated with the Texas Master Gardener program since 1999, where he serves as a trainer on environmental horticulture, weed ecology, and plant identification.
